This was actually an idea that we came up with a long time ago, but never had enough people to effectively carry out.

Here's the general rules:
Spies can be played with any gamemode involving 2 equal teams. For the sake of example, let's say the game is 8 vs 8 Elimination. The spy is basically just a player who is working for the other team's goals. In Elimination, the spy who is assigned to team 1 (but is secretly working for team 2) would try to eliminate all of team 1. Hopefully while avoiding detection, although it is not necessary.
Before the game starts everybody draws piece of paper from a bag that tells them what team they are on. There will be four papers that designate people as spies for certain teams; meaning there are 2 spies per team (about one quarter of each team should be a spy). Besides his regular weapons, the spy is equipped with a "knife" marker for close range kills.

That's pretty much it. Sorry my description is kinda cluttered, I'm not too good at explaining things. Basically each team has a set number of spies that will end up betraying them by the end of the game. Needless to say, there is a strict "deadmen can't talk" rule.

It's not that complex of a game, but in theory it should change tactics a lot. For example, you definitely do not want to have only one person on guard duty during a Spies CTF, since that person might be a spy. You also don't want all your people in one place where the spy could take them all out. On the flipside, you don't want anybody isolated with the spy, since they could be taken out and nobody would know. It should be interesting.

I think Nick means that the spy (who is secretly working for team 2) would be shot by team 2. I guess the spy would just have to tell the team they are secretly working for that they are the spy, so that they won't be shot. With all the things going on before a match, it shouldn't be that hard to get a message across. Of course, some "shoot to miss" might need to go on so that the spy's cover isn't blown.

Kyle has a good point though maybe we shouldn't use the marker. The spy would just have to back up a bit before firing, or just poke them and say "knife kill".

So if we are going to try this out, would we do it tomorow, or the war after that?
